Who are we, and why choose us?
Amy Devine, founder and designer of Devine Works, is a primary resident of Cincinnati, OH; although, she travels all over the States to find her next big adventure. Amy has always found herself embracing nature, a passion passed down from her Grandpa Mark Devine. From creeking and crawdadding as a child in the 'burbs of Southwest Ohio, to back-country packing into Lamar Valley to study the Druid Peak wolf pack, Amy grasps every opportunity to live spherically. And like so many, Amy wanted to apply a greener outlook on life to her hobbies and interests. At Devine Works, we offer sustainable, handmade goods and gifts inspired by outdoor adventures. This is how Devine Works started in January, 2010.
At Devine Works, we offer handmade collections from Amy herself, and other local artists, including Eileen Brown and a few to remain anonymous, as their work is sporadic and one-of-a-kind. Amy's pages consist of handmade jewelry, letter photography signs, hand-painted decor and notecards, upcycled wine bottle candles, photography notecards, and a few other DIY gift ideas from reclaimed elements. You'll see that our handmade gifts are holistically inspired by nature. Simply being outside - at the beach, on a mountaintop, or just bird-watching in the backyard. We will have more local artists joining the site as we move forward, so please check back regularly for new items! Also keep an eye out for our seasonal specials on the homepage!
What makes us different?
We want to give back.
It's comforting, as a consumer, to know that my dollar is being stretched as far as it can go. That's why our price points are lower. It's why I offer FREE SHIPPING on jewelry, and custom orders made easy and on YOUR budget. And it's why 10% of all net proceeds will be donated to the Sierra Club. As an active Sierra Club member, and an active traveler, I like to know that I can make an environmental difference, as little or large as it may be. I hope that this works for you as well!
"In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks."
- John Muir
I'd also like to express my gratitude to my dear friend, Andrea Jackson McLearen, for the beautiful Devine Works magnolia logo, and for all of her help and support with the site! Thanks again playa!
