Who & Why Devine Works?

Who is Devine Works?

I'm Amy Devine, the creator of Devine Works and a lifelong resident of Cincinnati, OH. A little background about me... I have a constant desire to get outside and enjoy my surroundings, wherever the trail leads. And I've been making jewerly since gradeschool. Soooo, I've decided to combine these passions, and share them broadly. And then the photography fell in line once I realized that I may never see these outdoor wonderlands more than once in my life. So I take shot after shot to keep those memories, and to share these beautiful places with others.

At Devine Works, we offer handmade collections from myself and other local artists from friends to family. As creator, my own pages consist of handmade jewelry and letter photography. You'll notice that my handmade jewelry and my photography is holistically inspired by nature. Simply being outside - at the beach, on a mountaintop, or just birdwatching in my backyard.

We will have more local artists joining the site as we move forward, so please check back regularly for new items! Also keep an eye out for our seasonal specials on the homepage! (Bear with me and my elementary web design. I'm trying to find more time to make it easier to navigate.)

So what makes us different?

We want to give back.

It's comforting, as a consumer, to know that my dollar is being stretched as far as it can go. That's why our price points are lower. It's why I'm willing to haggle. It's why I offer FREE SHIPPING on jewelry, and custom orders made easy. And it's why 10% of all net proceeds will be split evenly between 2 organizations: The American Diabetes Association® and the SPCA®. So know that your purchases here really are going a long way!

I've narrowed it down to these two organizations, as they both have had a profound impact on so many people in my life. The ADA® will receive contributions from us in regards to my eldest sister, Lisa Marie Devine, who passed away from diabetes at age 39 on February 15, 2006.

The second organization chosen is the SPCA® of Cincinnati. As an owner of adopted pets, I understand the severity of funding for these establishments. Pets are not cheap in any way, except maybe a fish or gerbil. Do people still have gerbils as pets? Or maybe a pet rock too - those are pretty cheap I think. Anyway, know that part of your purchase will be helping to feed and vaccinate that poor litter of pups that was found behind a dumpster in the city. (I just made that up, but it's pretty accurate for a lot of the tri-state.) Funding is low for these agencies, so I'm excited to start getting an account filled for them! Here is a picture of my two boneheads, Darby & Seamus. Seriously -  Good things come from adoption!

~~ I'd also like to express my gratitude to our dear friend Andrea Jackson McLearen for the beautiful Devine Works magnolia logo!!

Thanks again playa!!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks for stopping by!

Cheers!
